Oregon Columbia River Gorge

45 mn east of Hood River on the Washington side, very close to Rufus this is a sailing spot for advanced riders and works when clouds are thick in Hood River or when the conditions are just right. Make the drive if other sites aren't windy. Popular mostly with windsurfers, do not kite here.
This is a great windsurf spot. Watch for fish nets and rocks.
Keep an eye on the current in the spring, it can be moving. Home to some of the best swells in the gorge when the conditions are right.
From Hood River, drive on the I84, then take the exit for the Maryhill bridge. After the bridge, make a right and take Maryhill Hwy which is the road on the left of the park entrance. Do not go into the park. Continue through the orchards, onto the gravel road until you get to the river.
