Oregon Columbia River Gorge

50 mn east of Hood River on the Oregon side, this sailing site can be ripping when the clouds are thick in Hood River. Make the drive if other sites aren't windy. Gravels, easy parking, overnight parking too. Popular with both kiters and windsurfers. Keep an eye on the current in the spring, it can be moving. Home to some of the best swells in the gorge when the conditions are right.
From Hood River, take the exit by the shell station on the I84, go left under bridge, drive on the gravel road for a bit until you see other cars. Park, rig and sail.
This site only gets 3 stars because it's far, has current and doesn't work all that often.
