Hood River Event Site

Oregon Columbia River Gorge

Located in Hood River, very easy access. If you have never sailed the Columbia Gorge, this should be your first experience. It's where it all begins. Fairly flat and proteted from the chop, wind isn't as strong as other spots, plenty of grass rigging, bathrooms, close to the riverfront waterpark. Very popular with all the kiting schools.

We gave this spot 3 stars only because most windsurfers will quickly outgrow what the hood river sand bar can offer ; however, it's a favorite for kiters. Very busy spot.
