This is a south wind sailing spot mostly for advanced riders. With the right conditions, it can be really fun.

Launch is on the north side of the Barview Jetty. Turn off the 101 shortly after Garibaldi as if you were going to the Barview Jetty Campground. Drive slowly through the campground and take the first left towards the jetty.

This place is best on steady South winds and smaller swells. Full force winter south storms are not recommended, strong current and large swells can be challenging and winds can go from 20 knots to 40 knots. Best times are usually on the tail end of a storm, when you will catch sunshine with fading surf - especially in spring time.

This place is sailed by local kiters. If you really want to sail the coast while the surf is insanely huge, you can sail in the bays nearby. Nehalem Bay to the North, Tillamook bay, Bay City, Cape Mears lake and Netarts are good options on a 5.5 ft tide minimum.
